What does getting Off the Sidelines Mean to You?
As we celebrate ninety-one years of women having the right to vote, we must remember that the fight for full equality continues and we have to carry the torch one mile further for the next generation.
Currently in the US, women make on average 78 cents for every dollar a man makes; and even though women make up 51% of the population, we hold just 17% of seats in Congress and only 6 governorships. In addition, only 15 of the Fortune 500 CEOs are women.
Kirsten believes that the only way to end these disparities is to get more women involved in the political process, whether it be voting, writing a letter to the editor, calling your congressman or running for office yourself.
That?s why Kirsten created Off The Sidelines, to encourage more women to make a difference by making their voices heard on the issues they care about. That?s what getting off the sidelines means to Kirsten.
How about you? In one sentence, tell us what getting off the sidelines means to you below.
