I love the ad, it's not only a great parody, it's also *mostly* correct.

But not completely correct, because, let's admit it, certain Democratic senators are also less than fully onboard with *healthcare* reform (as opposed to "insurance reform").

  • Democrats say YES to Debt, National Bankruptcy and Tyranny by Jack (Sat Oct 24 2009 22:23:41 GMT-0400 (EDT))
Often, saying NO is the right thing to do. Anti-drug campaigns tell you to, "Just say NO to drugs". If your kid starts to run out into the street you yell NO.

If your government has no money and has already borrowed all that anyone wants to loan them, if they try to spend even trillions more, you must say NO.

If your government disregards the Constitution and just takes over private property and companies, you must say NO.

If your government writes gigantic convoluted 1300 page bills and then insist that Congress pass them with no time for Congress or the public to read them, you must say NO.

If your government tries to stifle free speech by attacking news sources that are alerting the public to government corruption, you must say NO.

If your government tries to take over control of many aspects of your private life by setting up a public health care plan so they can control what you eat, what foods they can put high taxes on and what risky sports you can or cannot participate in, you must say NO.

When the World-Government people try to come up with a global size scary fictitious problem to unite countries in fear and get them to give up their sovereignty to avoid being overrun by the ocean or burned up by a changing climate, you must say NO.

If your government wants to take away the people's guns because they want to govern in a way an armed populace wouldn't tolerate, you must say NO.

If your government passes laws to punish companies that are trying to warn their customers what the government is going to try to do to them, then you must say NO.

If you government is trying to keep people from getting jobs so they can keep the crisis mentality going so the fearful people will let the government get away with more, then you must say NO.

No the right wing is keeping people from getting GOOD jobs. The great thing is America is finally coming to see the light. The new health care bill WILL have the public option. Then watch all the right wing cry babies come running to the public option. If it were me I would tell them NO go to your tea bag party and ask them.

  • I feel sorry for you by (Sun Oct 25 2009 05:49:58 GMT-0400 (EDT))
Oh, how I feel sorry for you. You have all become brainwashed lemmings. And you sit and watch the president lie, tell more lies, and then contradict those lies. I hope you are happy with your change. Especially as you stand in the unemployment line. Do you not read? This health bill will not take place for 5 years and will leave 16 million people still without insurance. And for those first 5 years, you will be taxed until you scream. Food tax and taxes to breathe. Every single American is going to be taxed. But you all have the "It's free and I want it" mentality. Gimmee Gimme Gimmee as long as you don't have to pay for it. Well, folks, YOU ARE going to be paying for it FOREVER and so will your children and their children. Maybe you should look up the Debt clock and see how much every man, woman and child OWES right now. Bush started it but Obama has carried it to the extreme. How is a health care reform bill reform when 16 million people will STILL have no health care even after you pay for it the first 5 years before getting it. And don't forget Cap and Trade. That has not hit you yet. Get used to trying to decided between food and heat. Medicine and electricity. Your electric bill will skyrocket and that is in Obama's own words. I dont't know how you all afford it, but we live week to week now so how are we going to afform all these new taxes. I know that this is not the change I voted for. Everything he promised us on the campaign trail, he has totally turned 180. Go back and listen to his speeches when we were all in love with him. Then listed to him now. WOW, what a rude awakening that was and it will be for you too. Well, we get the government we deserve and I guess we just got it. The problem is YOU don't get it yet.

Sorry I spelled listen wrong. But I forgot something. Now we are being told that your average size dog or two cats have the same carbon footprint as your SUV. We are being told we should get green pets, like a chicken. Yes, buy your child a chicken. They get to name it,play with it, and you get free eggs. And when the chicken named Spot stops laying in a year, you can wring her neck and have her for dinner. Now that is a great thing for your child to live through. What will they think of next! And yet you keep believing them. And when I say them, I mean all politicians from both sides. They are starting to lose their minds. I hope we all don't go down with them.

The democrat party is pathetic. Can't you people see it in the plain English it's being given to you in? Or, as you are all against immigration reform, do you need it in some foreign language? Oh, I digress, and tend to forget, democrats are stupid, and easily led to the slaughter by the mentally deranged left wing Maoists, Stalinists, and other like minded tyrants. Can we say Hitler? Oh, perish the thought! Dunn loves Mao, who was just as evil as Hitler, but we don't dare openly admit loving Hitler, now, do we? Or, should we just say that the regime in power in this country is the very evil of old, reincarnated from the pits of Hell itself?

  • Health Care Reform by Independent (Sun Oct 25 2009 21:34:47 GMT-0400 (EDT))
Everyone from fox is here because we clicked a link that was going to expose Glen Becks lies.(still looking) I think many people would be happy to get any job right now not just a GOOD job. Once everyone has equally poor health care we can have paycheck reform. Tax the rich and borrow more money ( before we lose our AAA rating) so everone can have a paycheck every two weeks working or not, then we don't have to worry about jobs.
Not the change I voted for. I am a blue collar independent voter with two full time jobs looking for number three.
  • Tired of Right Wing Attacks by Sondylee54 (Sun Oct 25 2009 23:13:21 GMT-0400 (EDT))
You right wing nuts need to remember that Obama did not cause the downfall of our economy and high unemployment. Most of our jobs have been outsourced to foreign countries which took place way before this administration. Its too bad Americans are so divided. I personally, appreciate what Obama is trying to do for us. I stopped watching Fox News after the election. All they do is attack, criticize and attack some more. Enough already. Frankly this American is tired of all the right's fear tactics.
  • Name calling.... by MacLaren (Mon Oct 26 2009 00:07:04 GMT-0400 (EDT))
Hmm...grouchy old people? I'm the ripe old age of 33. Does that qualify as old? And attacks? We only confront the lies with truth. I'm not grouchy, either. I just prefer to spend my money my way, on my terms, on stuff I want and need. I've got GREAT health care. I spend a fortune on it, too! Now the left thinks(always has, but can speak it freely now) that they are better qualified to TELL me when and where I get care. Oh, and my health plan is going to be taxed how much because some place there's a person I should feel obligated to help because they deserve my help on who's say-so? Enough already! Get out of my pocket and leave me alone! I am the only one qualified to take care of me, and to hell with what I should cough up for them because I must have cheated them in some way! I work, I own a business, and I pay taxes. I drive a gas guzzling American pickup that wants American drilled and refined oil, and I protect myself with GUNS, not 911, when I'm mugged! I wasn't even going to vote this past election. Then Sarah happened, and hope hit me again. Now I hope it wasn't just a flash in a pan, but a great movement to get back to basics in this once great nation!
Oh, and you're right on one thing. You're Great One didn't cause this mess. It started mainly with another wonderful progressive. Some say Teddy Roosevelt, but to me his name was Woodrow Wilson. FDR was a fine student of his, and screwed us even more, and after LBJ and Carter, it was all pretty well set for America to fall. So in the Anointed One's defense, he's only accelerating our demise, not causing it. When you fight with fact and speak boldly and fearlessly, how can you ultimately fail?
  • FOX News by Bassman65123 (Mon Oct 26 2009 04:58:01 GMT-0400 (EDT))
I started watching FOX news during the Bush / Gore fiasco and found that only FOX was giving both sides of the story so the listener could make up his / her own mind about the outcome. Still is true today. The only good thing the other "major" news organizations have done lately is to balk at the Obama administrations' attempt to block out FOX from the group news meeting and refused to let the White House operatives tell them what to and not to report on. i.e., the "Chicago way". And, good for them. Perhaps they are about to leave the love affair they had with the Obama candidacy, because of the disastrous way the Obama presidential leadership (or lack of same) is being run. To denigrate FOX News is to bury your head in the political sand of the far left who are bent on destroying this great country we should all love and respect and be willing to even die for.
  • Rebuttal by Bassman65123 (Mon Oct 26 2009 05:04:16 GMT-0400 (EDT))
Rather than label those who are truly concerned with the socialist direction this country is being led (or driven) in, you might do well to consider the actions of great presidents and administrations, both Dem and GOP alike, to the point that you just might realize that what we currently have going on in the White House and the administration and czar leadership is a great example of amateur hour in America.
  • The Obama Governement by annirich (Mon Oct 26 2009 11:09:08 GMT-0400 (EDT))
I never thought I'd live to see the day that I was in fear of a Government takeover into every aspect of my life. I've been through President's since Eisenhower and this Obama is out right scary. I heard his key note address for the Dems in 2002 and I told my husband then that the oil dripping from his tongue was toxic and my fears have proven out. His entire agenda is that of power. He wants it. His czar's profiles prove this out. So whether it's health care of clean energy, it's all wrong for our country. America was a proud nation; strong and he has belittled us to everyone. He is now getting ready to go to Cophenhagen to sign the UN clean energy act and to adhere to a "Global Government". Do some research people. It's terrible but he pictures himself as a WORLD leader and our country is his avenue to get there.

  • Why pay taxes when we can think like you by sondylee54 (Mon Oct 26 2009 13:47:46 GMT-0400 (EDT))
Maybe we shouldn't pay taxes at all. Heck why have police when we can have guns. Why have firemen, when we can use our water hoses. Public school is just too expensive when we can just stay home and school our children. Those that have two parents that work and don't have the time, oh well, not your problem. Social Security and Medicare, are a waste of taxpayers money. The children of seniors should take care of their own. Don't you think. After all, did they not raise us? As capitalism encourages American corporations to ship our jobs overseas, we should just allow those unemployed to be homeless and panhandle. Oh homelessness and begging are against the law, well we can just lock up all these people anyway, in private correctional facilities, because in your ideal world there will be no public funding for prisons. Maybe this is where you would like to see death panels to do away with people and their petty problems. What would you suggest? How do we pay for these wars that our leader war hawks are so quick to start. You may have great health care now, probably because you're healthy and young. If I was you I'd knock on wood. You never know when luck, be it financial, medical, or personal, changes for you. Nothing is certain kid, but unfortunately for you, paying taxes, getting old and dying.
  • Democratic majority by Newt (Mon Oct 26 2009 16:12:05 GMT-0400 (EDT))
I have been bombarded with requests for contributions during the healthcare debate to maintain a Democratic majority. I worked hard and contributed as much as I could to get this President and Democratic majority elected, but I will contribute again if and when the Democratic majority begins to represent the American Democratic majority instead of the health insurance industry. We have been told for months that healthcare reform with the public option the majority was elected to deliver would not happen in the Senate. There is a definitive majority in the Senate and we all know there are ways to pass real healthcare reform regardless of the minority antics. When Democrats were in the minority they wouldn't sustain a filibuster because the Republicans repeated threatened the nuclear option. 1) The Democrats can do that too but the don't have the guts to follow through and get rid of the filibuster. 2) It can also be passed through reconciliation. 3) The blue dogs can be told by the Senate Dems that they will not be supported by the party if they filibuster healthcare.

I will actively work against the re-election of any Senators or Representatives who work against a real 'public option' which means it is a an option for anyone in this country who cares to buy into it. It is obvious to anyone with any sense that the only way to sustain a robust public option is to allow those who can afford insurance and prefer the public option to have that option. It is our premiums that will help make paying for those who can't afford insurance 'deficite neutral'.

All the Senate plans are compromises to the insurance industry. The Democratic Party better figure out that it is people like me who worked non stop for a year that got them elected and selling us out on this issue will never be forgiven. The Public Option is the compromise that allows the insurance industry to exist and adapt to real regulation. A single payer system is what any knowledgeable American knows is the most efficient and economical solution. The Democrats had better wake up and realize that American are not going to forgive their betrayal if they sell us out with a mandate that forces Americans to buy insurance for the health insurance industry without providing a Public Option alternative that people can choose.

No triggers! No opt outs! No public option that isn't an option for any American who chooses it! No mandate without a real public option! No more industry pranks!

If you don't listen, then watch your funding and majority disappear. Americans don't care about this partisan/bi-partisan nonsense. We care about results. The Democrats will maintain their majority if they deliver and they will lose if they sell us out.

  • Free Country, so far... by Bill (Tue Oct 27 2009 21:33:54 GMT-0400 (EDT))
I thought this was the party of inclusion. I had no idea that this was just for religious zealots. The plan is very simple. I'll use small words so that you will not misunderstand me. 1. tax breaks for all those payers of health insurance. This includes every business owner. 2. Tax amnesty (that means no taxes) for personal money put into a medical savings account. 3. Tax amnesty for all institutions who provide health care for free. Yes, it already exists!! Its called charity. This is something that those loony Christians do on a daily basis. 4. Malpractice lawsuit losers pay for all costs. The best part of the Conservative plan is that no one has to pay for anyone else unless they want to. How difficult is this?
  • Sondylee4 by Insure Guy (Tue Oct 27 2009 21:46:49 GMT-0400 (EDT))
Evidently, you don't understand how our economy functions. There's a 9 month lead time. That means the stock market normally leads the economy around 9 months into the future. LEADS,,,,, DOESN'T FOLLOW TODAYS HAPPENINGS! I Dems just don't comprehend.
  • Democratic majority by (Wed Oct 28 2009 05:46:04 GMT-0400 (EDT))
I would never vote for Palin or any idiot like her, but I will also not vote for or support 'Democrats in name only'. I am following what the congress people in my state are doing on this issue closely and I will actively work against the re-election of any of the Democrats who betray the trust of the American people. There is no point in having a Democratic majority if the GOP and industry are still going to run the country and harm Americans for corporate profit.

I have written another round of letters and gave Harry Reid some hell for acting like his opt out plan was worth something. If they don't have the guts to pass real healthcare with a real public option they should forget mandates and just pass very strict regulation of the insurance industry. It won't be a solution for uninsured of America, but none of the Senate plans are anything but industry bonanzas.
  • Opt Out not such a bad idea by sondylee54 (Wed Oct 28 2009 11:22:18 GMT-0400 (EDT))
I would love a robust public option with no strings attached. However the more I think of it, allowing the states to opt out is not a bad idea.

The public option should be voted on the state ballot to allow the people to decide. If the health insurance industry raises their premiums like they are promising to do, it will be interesting to see how many states will actually vote against true competition.

Those states opting out should not have to pay toward any cost that any of the states going with the public option should incur. This is fair, and it will cut down on the whinning and the shrill attacks from the right.

What states do you think will actually use the opt-out? Texas has the most uninsured in the country. I want to see how the republican elected officials explain to their constituents why their profit for health insurance is better for them. I see the GOP continue to shrink, especially if we get this opt-out option.
